Day 332: Senior Club :(
Tonight will be the very last time I write about Young Life on a Monday because tonight was the very last club of the year - and my high school career! Because it's the very last club, we get to have senior club where the seniors finally get to pick their favorite songs, games, mixers, and skits. Technically, the senior leaders (Erin and I) should have been able to do this the entire year... but that of course didn't happen. Usually when we'd put in effort to plan a club, we'd get shot down by John. Tonight, we were finally expecting to do what we wanted for once and play the Two Liter Challenge, a game we've been asking to play all year. When John agreed, we were honestly shocked. But of course, things always change. When we got to the meeting before club today, John told us that we weren't going to play the Two Liter Challenge. All year and shot down, it was a little bit upsetting. At least we still got to play peanut butter jousting - which was a little bit messier than we thought it would be. For the talk at club, Erin and I stood up and talked to the rest of the kids about our Young Life/ Wyld Life careers, Frontier Ranch, and how it's made us who we are. Erin actually started crying when I was talking, it was so depressing talking about how it was our very last club together after we've been going together for the past seven years! After us, Nathan De Jesus got up and talked, it was a pretty emotional speech. The three seniors that have known each other since literally kindergarden were being sent our separate ways, and thinking about it all was pretty upsetting. Young Life has been such a part of my life, without it on my Monday nights, I don't know what I'm gonna do!
