Day 116: Western Day!

Today was the first official day of spirit at school for homecoming week - western day! People dressed in their most cowboy clothes that they could find - there were lots of dresses, plaid shirts, jeans, and boots! Erin and I took a different kind of angle at western clothes, we decided to take it waaaaay back and wear overalls! We were definitely not looking very cute, but we sure did have some hilarious outfits. The best aspect of my outfit was DEFINITELY "Baby Horse". The horse on a stick toy I've kept in my Suburban for about a year finally got it's first field trip out of the car by coming to school! I rode it to every class, and every time I left my seat in a class I rode to wherever I was going. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty funny. I'm pretty sure Baby Horse was a big hit, people kept wanting to hold him! He was just so popular! It was a great day to be a western girl, YEE-HAW!

Day 115: Nerd Day!

Today was unofficial nerd day at our school! I say "unofficial" because it technically wasn't a spirit day at all. Since every year at school we have a spirit day every day, people decided that not having a spirit day was just not gonna cut it. So somebody came up with the idea that today people were gonna dress up like nerds! There weren't exactly a ton of people dressed like nerds, but it was hilarious anyways! One of the funniest things of the day was how people kept coming up to me and saying, "Brittany, you don't look any different. Those are your normal clothes." I can't even count how many times I heard this! It was ridiculous! It was also an amazing night, we had CRUD WARS with Young Life! We started off with the water balloons, then onto the flour bombs, then the shaving cream, and then finally the big mix of mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, and wood shavings/dog food! It was DISGUSTING! But it was a totally awesome crud war! After all the crazy food throwing the fire department came and washed us all off. It was extremely gross, but totally worth it! It was definitely a nerdy, messy, and most of all crazy day! :)

Day 114: Shopping for Spirit

This morning I woke up WAY too early - at 9 A.M.! Erin texted me asking me to go shopping with her for some spirit day stuff, and I definitely needed to go get some stuff, so I said yes of course! The only bad thing was, not many places open until after 12 on sundays :( Also, Walmart barely had anything so our trip was kind of a bust. We were determined though, we were definitely going to be ready for our spirit week! Later in the day, Jamie called me to go shopping with her, Erica, and Savannah! We went to the mall to see if they had anything for us! We wound up getting some stuff for unofficial nerd day, class color day, but mostly 80's day! It was super fun and it definitely got me excited for homecoming :) I know this week I'm going crazy and dressing super crazy and I'm not afraid to look silly! :)

Day 113: Rain is a Good Thing

Tonight we played Kempner in football at Mercer! We were really hoping for a win, but unfortunately we still haven't got there. :( This time Erin, Mark, and I all put "#46" on our selves because we were reppin' Matt Guti for his birthday! We even cheered a Happy Birthday chant for him! Most of the time, however; the fans just weren't being spirited enough! We tried to start a couple of cheers, but they didn't always catch on. After a while, I decided I wanted to get the student moving, so I jumped over the fence and got on the sideline area with Josh and Jewel and tried to get the kids moving! It worked for only some of the cheers, at least it was better than the lame cheering before! Soon after though, it was halftime and the Kempner band took the field. About a minute into their song however, a man got on the loud speaker and said that there was a delay do to the weather and asked the Kempner band to get off the field. All of a sudden, the band awkwardly stopped and walked off the field, it was hilarious! We didn't get much time to laugh tough, it started pouring within seconds! Erin, Mark, Victoria, Sevon, Jamie, and I ran under a brick cover and tried to wait out the rain. It didn't stop though, so we eventually left and went to Chick-fil-a. After a couple of minutes there though, we got a call and the game was back on! We dashed back and stayed for the rest of the game till the very end. We didn't pull out a win unfortunately, but we still cheered like crazy fans! After the game, we hung out at Jamie's for a little bit where her parents played a trick on us that was hilarious!

Day 112: Fort Bend County Fair Day

Tonight I went to the fair with Erin, Erica, and Cale! Matt Guti was supposed to come with us, but he skipped out which was totally lame, cause we had a blast! The ride there took forever, we were in the car for over an hour and the fair grounds are only like 15 minutes away! It was ridiculous! When we finally turned off of 59, it was crazy but Kate wound up right behind us! We wound up getting out of the car multiple times in the stopped traffic to go talk to them because our car wasn't moving at all. Finally after all the waiting however, we got to the fair! We met up with some more friends, rode some rides and listened to some awesome music at the Randy Rogers concert. The funhouse - by the way - was not fun. So not worth the three dollars! At the end, we were all super tired and very ready to come home and relax! But before that could happen, of course we had to stop at What-a-burger and get breakfast burritos. :)

Day 111: First District Meeting!

Today was the first student council district meeting! Everybody that went on the trip got an excused absence from school - which was awesome! I had to be at school MUCH earlier today than usual, but it was totally worth it. We went to M.O. Campbell High School, where the inside athletic arena is HUGE! There were definitely over 1,000 seats. We needed a big enough place to hold all of us crazy student council kids! Our first speaker came to talk to us about motivation, being able to take our excitement and ideas for the new year and actually go out and do something about it! He was definitely an awesome speaker, and performer! He was a "mind-freak" from Las Vegas, and he without a doubt knew how to WOW the crowd! He was amazing, and he definitely had some crazy tricks! After his speech, the second speaker came to talk about the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship program. It was pretty exciting, because he was pretty much directing the speech at the seniors, and I realized that college is so dang close! There were freshman at the convention and I thought, "wow, I must seem really OLD to them!" It's crazy that I've already come this far, it's really all been a blur! After the second speaker finished, we ran our district official meeting and then we were done! We had a couple hours to stay out, so we got to go to the Willobrook mall for some lunch and of course, shopping! I love that mall because the Forever 21 is so huge! After the mall we headed back to school with only 20 minutes left. It was a good school day for sure! Later tonight, I went to my brother's football game, and then out to eat sushi with my mother! My mom and I never really get to hang out, so it was pretty good finally getting to just sit down and chat with her. All in all, and good day for bonding :)

Day 110: Light in the Darkness

Tonight, Erin and I went to campaigners at Mat's house! There was only one problem - we didn't know how to get there. I had my Map Quest directions, but they really didn't help at all. There was tons of construction near his house so we kept missing the exit! It was extremely chaotic and I didn't know how to get there, so instead we just plugged it into Erin's GPS and finally got there. There weren't a lot of us, but it was a pretty good campaigners I must say. We talked about how we have to show people that, "we aren't the light ourselves, we are just the flashlight holders in the dark room". It was a pretty awesome metaphor that I came up with, if I do say so myself! I hope that everyone will start to see the light in the darkness, and begin to walk towards it. I told everyone that I hope we all hold our flashlight proudly, and I hope we don't run out of batteries! I love the young life staff, and I really wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!

Day 109: Senioritis and Science

Today was a crazy day! In broadcasting, a bunch of the seniors were laying on the floor claiming it was due to "senioritis". Honestly, senioritis is real and it definitely has an affect on the kids at Austin High School! I know that I am definitely so much more laid back in my school work this year than last, and it feels great! I love my classes this year, but I like that I can take it a little easier. After school, we had our second science club meeting! I didn't get to make the first one, so I was glad I got to go to this one. We were supposed to watch Mr. Wilson shoot a potato gun, but he didn't have the igniter so that plan was a fail. Instead, we just made a random mixture of chemicals that he knew how to make, and we made an explosion! First time we tried in inside, and the flames almost his the ceiling! This picture is a bunch of kids fanning the room after Trial 1 because it was super smoky and we didn't want the fire alarms to go off! After trial 1, We had a lot more, so we decided to take Trial 2 outside. I swear that the fire was at least 15 feet high! It was so awesome, and definitely a cool experience. As nerdy as it sounds, I love science club! :)

Day 108: First STUCO Meeting

This picture isn't from today, but it's from the student council winter retreat! Today was the first STUCO meeting for the year - well not full council, but it was the first one for the elected members! I was glad because I love Student Council so much! We played Atoms to Atoms, and that game definitely got me excited because it was an intense game! The way stuco is set up this year is much different than last year, but I know it's going to be a good year! I love that there are so many people in stuco this year as well, I hope that everyone stays in so that everyone will have a fun year! We've got a new principal this year, so hopefully we get to do more fun activities. I can't wait for the year to unfold!

Day 107: Finally, a Dress!

I finally went shopping for a homecoming dress today! I've been waiting to go because I didn't want to go by myself, and today my mom and I finally went! Our first stop was at Em & Lee in Town Center, but they weren't open yet so it was a bust! So, we decided to go to the one down in Houston! I wound up getting a skirt and some shoes that were on sale, but nothing for homecoming. So our search went on. We went to the Galleria, where pretty much everything is expensive unless you find the right store! It was stressing me out a little bit, because I couldn't find a dress that I liked, and most I didn't even want to try on because I knew they weren't what I wanted. I guess my style is out of date, because I didn't like a majority of the dresses I saw! Finally however, when we went to Macy's, I found a couple of dresses that I liked! I bought two because they were both on sale, but I'm still undecided on which to wear. I might not have the perfect outfit picked out just yet, but I have my options!

Day 106: Girl's Night In

Tonight, Katy, Anam, and I had a girl's night at Anam's house! Kaitlyn was supposed to come.... but she couldn't make it :( It was super fun, we all wished that she could have been there! We wound up going to sonic and grabbing some good fast food and some delish slushies! The whole way there and back we jammed to my "Party Animal" CD that I got from the LMFAO concert! We all loved it so much, we just wanted to dance so we decided to take it out and bring it in the house for a dance party! Anam asked me and Katy to teach her how to dance, since homecoming is coming up! Haha it was hilarious, we were just dancing around Anam's house like crazy people. Over the course of the night, Anam got a little silly. She even bit me THREE times because she was "in the biting mood". Hahahaha I love that girl to death, she is one of my very best friends on this planet! After getting crazy, we got a little tired and we started to wind down. Within about 15 minutes of pillow talk, we all fell asleep! It was an exciting, crazy, tiring, Girl's Night In! :)

Day 105: Kaitlyn's Surprise!

Tonight the Engles, Katy, and I planned Kaitlyn's 18th surprise birthday party at her house! After her birthday yesterday, she definitely thought that her birthday was over - doneskies. But man was she wrong! Her parents took her out to dinner, and Katy and I went over and set everything up! We got everyone to park down the street and when Kaitlyn walked in she was TOTALLY surprised we were there! She was so happy, and Katy and I felt so special :) Then the party got started! We got to some dancing, we swam for a bit and ate some of the delicious death by chocolate cupcakes that Mr. Mike made! After a couple of people, most of the pals, Amber, Taylor, and I got in the hot tub and we played a silly game of truth or dare. Ashkahn was definitely the funniest one, he is willing to do almost anything! After a little while, some more people came back to join the party once again and we decided to take our game upstairs into shannon's old room. we all laid down on the ground and turned the lights off and acted crazy. We weren't even doing anything specific, but Mark was singing haha. Needless to say, it was a crazy night! I was so happy that I surprised my best friend for her 18th birthday, happy birthday Kaitlyn! :)

Day 104: Dan The Man!

My football tanktops finally came in the mail! Almost all the girls who ordered them wore them today, and we all looked so cute! :) Lots and lots of people came up to me and asked me if I had extras because they wanted one, I was definitely loving the compliments! I might just have to order a second round, people seem to definitely like our new football coach! After school was the first thursday football game vs. Hightower at Hall stadium. I went with Melinda, Anam, and Jordan, and we were definitely feelin' fly like a G6 on the way there :) At the game, the fans were going crazy, and our boys scored 26 points in the end! It was still a loss, but I was definitely so proud that they scored so many points! I think they boys are finally getting a feel for the right game, and I have high hopes for them :) Dan Dan he's our man!

Day 103: Savannah's Birthday Dinner :)

Tonight a group of girls got together for Savannah's 18th birthday dinner at the new sushi place - Azuma! We all got dressed up and we had a reserved table upstairs, which was so cool. When everyone got there and got all settled in, Savannah's parents both toasted to Savannah's birthday, and they both almost made us cry! They are the sweetest parents and I could definitely tell that they love Savannah so much, and appreciated us being her friends. They were some very adorable tear-jerking toasts! After the toasts, the food came! First we had edamame and calamari, which were both amazing! After the appetizers though, all the sushi rolled out (pun intended! hehe) There were about 10 different rolls that we could eat and oh my goodness they were all delicious! I sat next to Victoria which was definitely hilarious because we both LOVE sushi so we were in heaven! After all the delicious sushi, they brought out the chocolate cake which was to die for! All the food we had was amazing, definitely some of the best sushi I've ever had! Savannah definitely picked a great place to have birthday dinner with all of her loving friends :) Happy 18th birthday Savannah!

Day 102: Let's Go Girls

Today was the volleyball game against Clements - which was crazy! There were so many fans from both sides, it was awesome! I love when people come to support their school sports, it makes me happy that the teams get to show off their stuff to the fans that cheer! The baseball boys at are school are definitely the biggest volleyball fans, they go crazy at every game! The Clements fans put on a show too though, it was just as much a cheering competition as it was a volleyball game! In the end though the game went to four games, and the bulldogs lost :( It was a GREAT game though, the girls played so well, I was very proud of them! They're still in the running for number one in the district, so I know AHS will be cheering them all the way to the top! Let's go girls!

Day 101: Will Dance for Young Life

Tonight was the first official all-grade club for AHS, THS, and KHS Young Life! We passed out some flyers at school and tried to get anybody we knew to come on down to the new place - Duhacsek Park - and come hang out! Not a lot of people know where it is, so Katy and I stood by the entranced and danced for people to know where to come, which was hilarious :) I honestly had no idea what to expect, but the turnout was amazing! We had 56 people come to the first club which was waaaay more than I could have ever dreamed for first club! I was definitely excited to see all the new faces - and some old ones too! We started off with the body part mixer, then had a dance competition, which Jake Mays won! I was so happy for him because I'm the one who asked him to come! I was thrilled by everybody telling me about how much fun they had and that they can't wait for next week, it really did make my heart happy! Also, I met a couple of new people from Kempner than I am so excited to get involved because it's their first year ever!

Day 100: Charging the Batteries

Today I honestly did nothing. I slept a big majority of the day. I slept in until about 1 P.M., woke up to watch a little football, then went back to sleep around 3 P.M. for a couple of hours. I slept so much, I feel like I completely charged my batteries after the week. I woke up early yesterday because of the ACT and took a 5 hour energy, so I was a live wire for a very long time! Since I used up so much energy I just needed a big nap, which is exactly what I got :) What a way to spend the 100th day of being a senior!

Day 99: Surprise!

Tonight was David's surprise birthday party at Taylor's house! It was pretty crazy, when David walked in, he seriously had NO idea that we were going to be there! Taylor definitely did a good job at keeping everything a secret, and he was definitely happy when he saw all of us there! It was a great surprise. After the whole surprise, everybody at the party ate some pizza and cookie cake, swam in the pool, listened to some music, and just hung out with each other! We all wanted to take a lot of pictures, but it was WAY too hot outside that it became unbearable to keep looking pretty! So instead, I just decided to get in the pool instead :) I had some hilarious talks with Ashkahn, Ben, Jake, Anna, Karli, and Taylor about the randomest things like the Kardashian girls and Spencer Pratt. It was a great bonding time with some people I rarely get to hang out with, and was definitely a great time! Afterwards, Anam slept over and we haven't had a sleepover in so long so it was fun :) I love that girl to pieces!

Day 98: We are FANtastic!

T0day the girls and I increased out spirit at the football game by increasing the amount of paint we put on our faces! We all went over to Jamie's after school and decided that instead of small numbers on our faces, we were going to paint big ones that took up our whole entire faces. Honestly, I think it was one of the funniest things any of us have done at a game so far! When we were at Jamie's, we all decided that we wanted to make some posters for the game. One was for Erica, and one was for ourselves that read, "we are FANtastic!" There weren't too many students at the game, so we definitely felt like we were the most spirited ones there!

Day 96: Doin' it for Dawg Pause

Today, Josh, Tori, and I actually filmed our video! Christa and Davis starred in it as well. :) We spent a little time after school shooting everything so that I could give it to Riley later to edit. After school, I went with Anam to the Halloween store so that I could see what I wanted to be for Halloween! I've wanted to be Lady Gaga, but they don't have any of the outfits I want in stores and I don't want to buy online because I don't know what it will fit like, so those dreams were crushed. Instead I just tried on a bunch of different outfits, but still could make no choice. At the end of the day, I still needed to keep looking! After coming home, I went over to Riley's so that I could give her the footage she needed to edit the video, but it uploaded wrong so we couldn't use it. Instead, we had to go back over to my house so that we could re-upload them and finally get things right. After that, we spent a long time editing our video and making it perfect and we finally finished it. When we tried to export it to a flash drive, the video wouldn't go onto it. We got pretty frustrated because our video was honestly not that big, so the jump drive was just being stupid. Finally we gave in and put it onto a CD to bring in tomorrow so that we could air it on the news! It was a stressful day for our first broadcasting video but I am so proud of our outcome! :)

Day 95: The Black Eye

Today after school, Tori Watts came to Austin so that she could be in Josh, Riley, and my video for broadcasting! We waited around a little to see if Riley could do it with us, but she had to go auditions for theatre so we just had a practice day without her! While we were walking through the cafeteria, I was walking right next to Josh when I got a text message. I looked down at my phone and stopped for a second so that I could text. When I started walking again, I was a little behind josh, but still next to him. At the moment I looked up from my phone, Josh had seen somebody he wanted to high five, so he drew his fist back at full force, punching me right in the eye. It was an accident, but MAN it hurt! Right afterwards, I asked Tori what it looked like and she said, "It kinda looks like you have a worm in your eye." Not the best words I wanted to hear... I've never had a black eye before due to a punch in the face, so this is definitely a first!

Day 94: All About Young Life

Today I was finally reunited with my Big Bear girls! Well, not everyone, there were a few missing :( But it was definitely fun! I miss these girls so much, I feel like every time we are reunited, it is like we never left camp! We ordered some pizza, went on a hilarious Walgreen's run and just sat around and updated each other with our lives :) We talked about upcoming homecoming especially, because Raisa volunteered to help us all out with our hair! :) She's such a sweetie and I missed her so much! On our Walgreen's run, Jamie and I sat in the back of Vanessa's car and seriously went CRAZY! I mean, we were definitely on hyper juice or something because we were laughing up a storm! I love that girl, we always have an amazing time together :) I wouldn't trade her for the world! After Vanessa's, we all had to go our separate ways to go to our own Young Life meetings! Too bad Elkins and Austin aren't together, it's a little depressing! But Young Life tonight was fun nevertheless - it was just a Sophomore-Senior meeting but I think we all are excited for club next week! I seriously can't wait, it's going to be so much fun! After everyone left today, Nicole and I creeped all around the office taking weird pictures and it was HILARIOUS. I definitely felt like a dork but it was so much fun! I love nicole, and I love being a creeper!

Day 93: Katy Rocks!

Today I woke up and was extremely tired! I had went to bed at 7 A.M. and woke up at 9 A.M.... not exactly the right amount of sleep for a seventeen year old! A little after waking up, Kelsey, Caroline, Courtney, & I decided that we wanted to go to sonic to get some slushies! I of course got the most delicious one there is - lemon berry! It definitely was a great snack to wake up to in the morning :) After getting slushies, we went back to the house and I had to pack up to go back home :( I definitely did not want to leave, I had way too much fun with my friends! But unfortunately, I had to leave, so I packed up and hit the road. When I got home, I went over to Mark's house to help him out with studying for the SAT, because we're both taking it in October! We studied for a little, but I eventually went home to take a nap because I was EXHAUSTED! It was definitely necessary! After my amazing nap, I watched Camp Rock 2! I seriously loved it so much, the songs were awesome and the whole movie was cute and was definitely an all around great movie! After Camp Rock, Katy came over for a sleepover! She hadn't been over in so long - I missed her a lot! We definitely did a lot of catching up, I love that chick :)

Day 92: Thanks & Gig' Em!

Today was the first game of the Fightin' Texas Aggie season! They played against SFA, which was definitely exciting because we kicked their butts! In the morning, my family woke up bright and early to get to Spence Park to set up our tailgate with the Cassanis, Rigsbys, and the Adams! It was pretty chaotic in the morning but once we got everything together it was a great big family hangout :) After a little while, Kels picked me up so that I could hang out with her for a little bit :) I wanted to buy some sunglasses because I was blind the whole day, but I couldn't find any that I thought were worth buying. :( After hanging out with the crew for a little while, I went back to the family tailgate because I couldn't leave them forever! I went back and had a little food, a little fun, then we all headed to the game! The first half I sat with the fam, and mostly just goofed around with Michael. My dad didn't think we were very funny, but we thought we were being hilarious saying that popcorn looks like mini brains! :) At the second half, I sat with Kelsey, Kunj, and Kelsey's friend Caroline! It was pretty fun, we cheered our brains out! Eventually, the Aggies pulled an awesome win of 48-7! :) We were definitely excited and wanted to celebrate! After the game, we all drove over to Kelsey's and hung out with all our friends and swam in the pool! It was super fun, and we definitely "partied like rockstars"! It was so much fun, and I love all my friends in College Station very much! I can't wait to live with them next year! :)

Day 91: Fans for Life

Today was the second football game of the season! Erin, Jamie, Victoria, and I wore our shirts that we made yesterday and surprisingly, we got more comments on these $3 shirts than the $15 ones we made and ordered online! I definitely felt pretty proud that people loved our creative shirts :) Before the game today, Erin, Jamie, and I met with Nicole and John up at the Young Life office to talk about next week's Senior-Sophomore meeting and the next two clubs. Planning everything definitely made me very excited to get the clubs up and going! I know that people are going to have just as much fun as I will :) The game tonight - unfortunately - didn't go as the bulldogs had hoped :( We lost 27-7 to Manville. It was pretty upsetting watching the boys get upset, because it made all the fans upset as well. Win or lose though, we all love our football boys, and we're sticking to the end!

Day 90: Sweet Little Angels

After school today, I went over to Erin's to make ANOTHER football fans shirt! This one wasn't as widespread as our others, only Erin, Jamie, Victoria, Savannah, and I will have them. They aren't anything too special, only some white tanktops that we spray painted, but they are still pretty cool looking. They say "SENIORS" on top of a football that has "XI" in the middle of it for class of 2011. On the back, we all chose a football player we're friends with and we wrote their name and number on the bottom of our shirts. We like to make sure we represent our boys :) After all of our painting, the Cassanis allowed Victoria, Maddie Fuqua, and I to stay for dinner. We had spaghetti and caesar salad, it was delicious! Pretty much the entire dinner we talked about Google Earth, which was random but pretty funny. After dinner, Elissa and Maddie began to make some rainbow cupcakes for the angels tomorrow for the tailgate before our football game! I asked them if they were making them because they were assigned and they said no, they were just doing it because they're nice. Those girls are so sweet, just like their cupcakes :)

Day 89: Puppy Love

Honestly today I didn't do much. It was definitely one of those lazy days. When I got home from school, I watched "The Bachelor Pad" episode that I had missed monday night, which was two hours long and was AMAZING. I love that show, even though it's a little messed up I still love it so much! After that, I planned on working out for the first time in FOREVER, but my dad had other plans. He wanted me to go with him to pick up my brother from football practice so that I could meet the new head coach Dan Schreiber. I went to talk to him about the football shirts that I made, to make sure that he likes them and would allows us to wear them! He is the star of the shirt, and he was definitely flattered about them. I can't wait to wear them, and I'm definitely SO excited to have him as our new football coach because he is a great guy and a great coach and he will make our team successful! After the meeting with him, I went home and watched "Another Cinderella Story" with Selena Gomez in it. It's such a cheesy movie, but I couldn't help myself, I love movies like this one :) After the movie, I celebrated Ginger's birthday by buying her and Tucker doggie ice cream :) These dogs are so spoiled, but it's okay because I love them and I always will. I definitely have puppy love!

Day 88: Goodbye for Now

Tonight was my last day of work for a while, I am taking a couple weeks of leave so that I can get up to speed with my school, extra curricular activities, and don't forget college applications! Until I finish, I'll be work-free! Anyways, I absolutely love having people visit me at work, and I had a couple of visits today, which I loved! The first was Ariel, who was picking up Katy's wallet for her that she had left in my car. Next was Madison, because she was taking my picture for the yearbook! I had just written down the night's specials when she arrived, so I took a couple pictures with the board, which I'm not gonna lie was pretty awkward! I was standing in the middle of the walkway in front of Fish City just posing for the camera! People kept walking by and I really did feel a little weird, but in the end it was worth the yearbook picture :) After Maddie left, I went to Kroger to pick up some wings for Juan to cook because since it was my last day for a while, I asked him to cook for me and he said he would :) After getting back and getting the wings started, right as I was clocking out Matt, Taylor, and Augie visited me! They were going out to dinner and they stopped by to see me because they remembered it was my last day :) We reminisced a little on the past weekend and had some good laughs. They are the best boys ever, and I love them! It was a fantastic last night (for a while) of work, and I couldn't ask for a better job or co-workers!

Day 87: Let's Get it Started

Today we had the senior Young Life meeting at the office and it was amazing! This year, Austin High School for the first time in I don't know how long is separating itself from Clements and combining with Travis and Kemper high to have our own Young Life! Tonight it was seniors only and we were planning on laying out how the rest of the year is going to look. I met a couple of new leaders like Mat and Mike, who are both very awesome and I can't wait to bond with! There weren't a lot of seniors, but it was definitely a great group of people that I am so excited to work with this coming year. John talked to us for a long time about making Young Life the "cool" thing to do at our schools, and making sure that people are fired up about wanting to come to club every week. He wants to see us bring hundreds of people this year, and I know that all of us definitely got pumped up enough to believe that we can do it! I hope that this year, I do the best possible job that I can at being the AHS, THS, and KHS president, and I hope I am able to spread my love for Young Life to all those that I can. It's a great way to be involved with not only your friends, but with God as well and I just can't wait for this year's turnout to have the same experience as I have!
