Day 317: Palms Giving

Today is Palm Sunday, a really big day in the Catholic church. Everybody gets a strand of dried palm leaf, and usually they make it into little shapes, just like this tiny cross I made! Today we read the story of how Jesus was accused, crucified, and died for our sins. It's a pretty big deal, it's one of if not the biggest story told in the Catholic faith. Jesus is our savior, and he should be praised! One of my favorite songs we sing at church during Holy Week is:

"Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?<

Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?"

This song is so powerful, I really almost tremble upon hearing them. Holy Week is a time to hang out with the family, celebrate all that we have been given, and most importantly, live for the Lord. Plenty of people have heard the bible verse John 3:16, but between the lines we are able to see that God really gave everything for us, and we should be willing to give everything for him. I guess that even though the cross I made is tiny, it has immense meaning!
