Day 83: Slow it Down

Tonight I had work and let me tell you, it was LOUD. We had a band come and play, called "The H-Town Jukes". Every time we have a band, they are always the ones to come because they play blues music, which fits right in at Fish City! I don't exactly love when I get scheduled to work with the band, because I never know until the day of and it always catches me a little off guard. It's difficult because since they make the restaurant so loud, it's hard for me to talk to customers that come in and want to eat because neither of us can hear each other. So pretty much the entire time I was working I was becoming deaf because my station is right next to the band's speakers. After I got to leave, I stopped in the parking lot because I saw a funny license plate. It read, "I M SLO" as if to say "I'm slow". At first I thought about how annoying it was that a car would do that, admit that they were a slow driver just to make the rest of us angry, but afterwards I laughed. I admit, I definitely can get mad at drivers that are slow, I think it's unsafe and ridiculous. But I realized that being slow isn't always a bad thing, it helps you be able to appreciate everything that's going on around you. Lately especially, I feel like my life is flashing before my eyes, and I think that it all needs to slow down a little! Maybe everybody should have a day of enjoyment where they all take a break to stop and smell the roses, and make things go by a little more slowly.
