Day 52: Mountain Hoedown!

This morning after breakfast, we had a camp-wide volleyball tournament! Every cabin was its own team, and my cabin (Big Bear) dressed up as pirates! We didn't exactly do very well in the tournament, but it's okay because we still had fun :) Nicole brought a wig with a mullet, and at one point I even put it on to disguise myself! Haha it was a little crazy, and even the guys got into it - they were dressed up as guidos! After the tournament, we all had free time and Raisa, Ellen and I rode the Screamer!! It's a giant swing that throws you over the side of a cliff, which is super scary but awesome at the same time! When we got strapped in, Ellen & I almost peed in our pants we were so scared! It was definitely the time of our lives though, I loved it! It was definitely worth it in the end :) For the rest of the time, the girls and the guys all played volleyball together and just goofed around until we had to go to the Rodeo at the horse stables! We all climbed up a giant hill to get there, and when we got there we were all put into four teams; red, blue, yellow, and green! Cabin Big Bear was put on the blue team, and we definitely dominated! The games were fun, but the funniest was definitely when the boys had to carry a girl on a mattress while being pegged with water balloons! I'm so glad that I didn't have to do that one, because most of the girls fell off and rolled onto the gravel which looked painful. After the Rodeo, we had dinner outside like a cookout. It was beautiful to enjoy nature while eating outside :) After dinner, I got to know a lot of the Elkins people like Garrett, Price, and Mel by having chill talk with them on the side of the mountain. It was pretty great to get to know them, they are awesome people and I love them! At night, our club was about understanding that God is like our father. If we had ten minutes alone with him, he would not judge us or scold us for what we have done, all he would do is love on us, which really put it in perspective for me. I realized that God is our friend, our dad, not our judge. If there's anyone to go to when we've got trouble, it's our Papa. :)
