Day 51: Arriving in Paradise

Today our stops were pretty crazy, we were no longer in Texas anymore! We stopped twice in Colorado, which was BEAUTIFUL. The first time, we stopped at a Walmart where everybody on the bus played "people of Walmart" which was hysterical! Every time somebody walked by the bus, the boys would say something about them. One of the main points was when a man with dreadlocks down to his knees passed by, it was hilarious! Our next stop was in Buena Vista, about 30 minutes from camp, where we ate at random little restaurants and played in a big mountain park. Rocky, being as hilarious as he can be, said "The people here love me so much, they named their mountains after me." Erin, Jamie, and I started our time there off by walking up and down the main street with Raisa, which was beautiful! The mountain view was breathtaking, I could have stared at it forever. After taking a stroll, we went to the park where Adam Garner climbed a tree! It was crazy, he literally scaled a tree 20 feet up! It took him a while to get down, but it was pretty funny watching everybody surround him because they though that he was gonna jump. After the stop in Buena Vista, we all piled back into the bus and headed for frontier! When we got there, the excitement could NOT be contained! Everybody was shouting in excitement, and we knew that we were about to have the best week of our lives! Right when we got there, we had to sprint to our first activity, Ridge Runners - which are kind of like giant dune buggies, which OF COURSE had the most strenuous walk! We literally couldn't breathe once we got up to it, we had literally ran an entire mile uphill! It was crazy, but definitely worth it. The only bad part of it was that the rain had made the seats wet, so it looked like all of us peed in our pants! Afterwards on our first night, we had CAMO night and we all dressed in camouflage and black so that we could go through the obstacle course. It was pitch black, and we had to run through camp "protecting our leader" from water balloons all other types of things! After the obstacle course, the whole camp jumped in the pool with our clothes on to have a giant pool party! It was crazy awesome and we all definitely had a LOT of fun. After getting back to the cabin, we found that our other leader Nicole Prosser had finally come to us! She told us a great quote for our first night that was pretty pervasive throughout the whole week:
"The King is enthralled by your beauty, honor him for he is your Lord." - Psalms 45:11
It was definitely a great first day to kick off the best week of my life!
