Day 85: 5 LOCOS!
| at 1:45 PM
Day 84: First Game Day!
| at 1:21 PM
Today was this year Austin High School Bulldogs' first football game! It wasn't a district game, but it was the first one and everyone in the whole school was pretty excited to see the new coach and our improved boys at work on the field! Victoria created some football fan t-shirts to wear during the games or on game day that says "We Love Our Football Boys". All the senior girls that got them wore the shirts to school today, and we all matched :) I guess you could say we were all pumped! After school ended, I met up with a few friends at Chick-fil-a to snack up and talk about how we were going to get there, and it was decided that I was going to ride with Victoria, Gabby, Erin, and Jamie! We definitely had the party car, we jammed out all the way there (the whole hour or so that it took) and just had a blast! We even listened to some oldies but goodies like spice girls and All-Star. It was hilarious! When we got there, we were definitely the best and loudest fans all the way to the end of the game! We wanted the boys to win so badly, but we ended up losing 19-21. :( It okay though, we still believe that our boys will pull out a win soon :)
Day 83: Slow it Down
| at 1:05 PM
Tonight I had work and let me tell you, it was LOUD. We had a band come and play, called "The H-Town Jukes". Every time we have a band, they are always the ones to come because they play blues music, which fits right in at Fish City! I don't exactly love when I get scheduled to work with the band, because I never know until the day of and it always catches me a little off guard. It's difficult because since they make the restaurant so loud, it's hard for me to talk to customers that come in and want to eat because neither of us can hear each other. So pretty much the entire time I was working I was becoming deaf because my station is right next to the band's speakers. After I got to leave, I stopped in the parking lot because I saw a funny license plate. It read, "I M SLO" as if to say "I'm slow". At first I thought about how annoying it was that a car would do that, admit that they were a slow driver just to make the rest of us angry, but afterwards I laughed. I admit, I definitely can get mad at drivers that are slow, I think it's unsafe and ridiculous. But I realized that being slow isn't always a bad thing, it helps you be able to appreciate everything that's going on around you. Lately especially, I feel like my life is flashing before my eyes, and I think that it all needs to slow down a little! Maybe everybody should have a day of enjoyment where they all take a break to stop and smell the roses, and make things go by a little more slowly.
Day 82: Reunited
| at 8:46 PM
Today I finally got to see some of my most amazing friends, Kelsey Young and Andrew Abdo! We planned on going out to dinner, which was amazing because I definitely missed them a lot! We went out to get at Buffalo Wild Wings and had some delicious wings and nachos. We chatted up and while we were there we saw probably like 10 people we knew, (at least I know) it was crazy, like wednesday night was the night to go out and eat at buffalo wild wings! We talked about all of our crazy times we've had since we last saw each other, especially one super funny event with Kelsey! I feel like that girl always has some hilarious drama to tell us all so that we have a good laugh :) After dinner, those two came over so that Kels could show us something on the computer, which was HILARIOUS! Abdo and I seriously laughed out loud it was so funny. After a bit though, they had to leave because I had school the next day! Before I was going to get started on my own homework however, Mark called me and asked me to tutor him in Pre-Cal. I helped him of course because I know how hard Pre-Cal is when you first get started!
Day 81: Taking Down Dulles
| at 8:51 PM
Today was a successful second day of school! Afterwards, I went home so I could do a little homework so I can get into the good habit of doing it everyday :) Tonight was also the first district volleyball game against dulles! Erin, Mark, and I decided that we were all going to ride together and meet up with Gabby, Ross, and Victoria at Chick-fil-a beforehand. When I was about to leave however, it stared pouring! And when I say pouring, I mean raining buckets! My dog Tucker HATES the rain, he's terrified of it! Most of the time, my other dog Ginger avoids him, but when it rains she gets all protective of him like she's his mommy, it's adorable :) The rain was so crazy I even had to put on a rain coat! I look a little silly, and I felt a little silly driving with it on but it didn't matter because once I got to Erin's house, she was wearing a raincoat too! Great minds definitely think alike. After getting Erin, I swooped to pick up Mark and we picked up some Chick, met up with John who creepily found us at Chick-fil-a, and headed to the game. Our girls KILLED Dulles in three games, and it was awesome! I'm proud of those girls!
Day 80: First Day Seniors!!
| at 7:56 PM
Today, I definitely kicked off senior year in a special way! For starters, I wound up waking up late, 8:10 to be precise, and was about an hour late to school! I felt pretty stupid, but it's alright because the first day, they don't count tardies! It was pretty funny, just hanging around in the attendance like a bad kid already on the first day. After the advisories got out however, I was able to join the rest of the senior class and follow my schedule! I have first and second off, which is going to be AMAZING I already know! After that, I have the BEST physics class ever, then broadcasting which I can already tell is going to be a blast, then I was signed up for AP government with Brownson, but I am definitely getting out! I have B lunch that period with EVERYONE and it is going to be freakin awesome! Sixth is calculus then it's english with erin and mark, two of my favorite people in the world! My schedule is so great, I just hope that it doesn't get messed up with me changing into regular government and economics, but we'll have to see! It was definitely a great day, I was just silly and I'm sure anybody who doesn't know me yet, definitely got a funny first impression from me today! I'm a senior now, I'm going to be what I want, wear what I want, say what I want, and just do what I want! It's only the first day, and I already love senior year!
Day 79: Friends Near & Far
| at 9:46 PM
Today I woke up at 5 A.M. to travel with the f-unit to College Station to help Diane move into her new dorm! Diane was already up there, so the rest of us piled in the car and headed out extra early. We stopped for some tasty Lonestar Kolaches on the way, and were on the road by 6. When we arrived, Diane was definitely happy to see us and happy that we were there to help her move in. We organized most of her things, and by the end of the morning, her room looked pretty great! Her roommate Caitlyn Papso and her family decided to join in on the fun, and all of us hung out in the room for a little bit just chatting it up and getting to know each other. The Papsos are a silly bunch and I know she and Diane are going to get along just fine! After all was said and done, it was time for all of us to head back on home. We said our goodbyes and hit the road! Once I got home, I got on the computer and Skyped with Annika! I hadn't talked to her in a while so it was really great getting to talk to her! I'm so glad that skype was invented, I'd be very sad if I couldn't see this girl's face for more than a year! We talked about the upcoming school year and how we're both excited for next summer - when she comes to visit America again and stay with my family! I love this girl to death and I'm so glad she's been a part of my life :) Friends to death! After a little while though she had to sign off because she's seven hours ahead and she needed to sleep! After skyping with Anni, I hung out with Anam and Mark for a little bit, just getting in some extra hang time before we have to go to school tomorrow. School is a little scary fact, but since I'm going to be a senior, I honestly can't wait to just live it up! Let's go class of 2011!
Day 78: SILFs
| at 7:14 PM
This morning (at about 2 AM), my phone decided to die altogether. It lost service at one point and I took out the battery and it never turned on again :( As a result, I had to go to the verizon store today to purchase a new one! I wound up having to go three separate times just to get everything purchased and working properly! It was a bit of a hassle, and a little frustrating at times but it was definitely worth it because I love my new phone! It's the new LG Chocolate Touch and I am in love :) It's my first touch screen and I'm so glad I picked it :) Finally at the end of the day, I could relax and enjoy my last saturday night of summer! After work, I grocery shopped with my brother and his best friend Justin and it was pretty funny. We ran around HEB for a long while, searching for things that Michael and I want to eat in our lunches for school! It was good that we were able to pick out our own things we wanted, but it was a little sad because it made me realize that school is so darn soon :( I'm excited to go back, but not just quite yet! After that, I hung out with some friends for the last going out night of summer at Jamie's! I love my SILFS, and they mean the world to me!
Day 77: The 'Riginals
| at 6:43 PM
Free shirts are probably one of the best gifts that you can ever give me, and today I was a hapy girl. Jamie Chapman was giving away some of his old t-shirts that he didn't wear anymore, and he gave me like ten of them! I was definitely happy to see an old friend, and also to get some shirts! Later tonight after I got off work, the entire Muller family went out to eat at Saltgrass for Diane's last night here in the land of sugar. We had some delicious food, Saltgrass is definitely worth the price! We all sat around the table and just chatted it up while my dad sang the wrong lyrics to the music and michael would attempt to tell stories. It was some good family bonding for Diane's last official night here. After dinner, I headed over to the Kaitlyn's to hang out with my friends for one last shebang at the Engle casa! It was loads of fun and I'm definitely glad that this summer has definitely been the summer for BONDING! I love all of my friends to the max, and I can't wait to celebrate livin' the easy senior life with them! :) After most people left, Kaitlyn, Katy, Mark and I had a discussion about the "cliques" in our grade, and it was hilarious to hear the random stuff that goober comes up with. He told all three of us that we were main members of the "riginals" which was hilarious to hear. After a while, Mark left and Katy, Kaitlyn and I had a big girls night sleepover! We were the only ones in the house so needless to say, we got crazy! We sang some karaoke (which was not exactly beautiful sounding), jumped in the pool and even ran through some sprinklers! It was an all around awesome night with two of my best girls :) I love them so much and I can't wait to share my senior year with them!
Day 76: Richard's Birthday!
| at 10:41 AM
Day 75: Girl's Night Out!
| at 10:22 AM
Tonight Erin, Victoria, Jamie, Brooke, and I all decided to go out to dinner at BJ's for a girls night! We all decided that we needed a night to just be girly and crazy :) We dressed up super cute and had a blast! When we got to BJ's, we all decided that we wanted deep dish pizza and pizookies! Don't let our pretty faces fool you, we can eat! We all had some super good food, and had fun just sitting around and talking :) After dinner, we met up with Jake, Mark, and Sevon, and decided to hang out at Jamie's house for a little bit! It was fun, the guys were hilarious. Jake wanted to play on chatroulette the whole time because when he initially got on, he met the "polish love of his life", but her computer messed up and he lost contact with her. He was very disappointed, so he was looking for her for a while. The rest of us decided that we didn't want to wait for chatroulette, we wanted to play games and just goof off! It was fun and we eventually got jake to join us. It was super fun, and we all had a great time just hanging out with each other at our small gathering, haha :) I can't wait to be a senior with these silly people, I love them to death! Afterwards, all of us girls went to sleepover at Brooke's house and we were being silly eating our leftover pizza and just being us :)
Day 74: The Bet
| at 10:05 AM
Today was the day that everybody was supposed to get their parking permit sticker for school, but I couldn't get it because my license was expired. Unfortunately, that meant that I had to go to the DPS and get my license renewed. It wasn't too bad however though, it only took two hours and the whole time I got to chat with Michele Carpenter because she was right behind me in line! After the DPS, I met up with Mark to get some lunch at Cafe Express! It was delicious and definitely hit the spot after all that boring waiting! Later that night, Mark and I decided to go to 9er's and visit Kaitlyn as she closed up. Seeing her in working uniform was pretty bizarre because I've never seen her in it before! After she closed up the place, we headed over to Kaitlyn's for a little bit, and while Kaitlyn and Mark had a heart-to-heart, I had a chat with little Shannon! I love the Engle family, I could probably talk to any one of them for hours and not feel uncomfortable! Soon enough though, Kaitlyn was tired and she had to go to sleep so Mark and I jetted out. While we were about to get in the car, Mark decided that he wanted to lay on Shannon Coulbourne's hammock because he says that it always calls to him when he sees it. It was pretty funny, Mark sitting in a random front yard... I felt pretty creepy! When we finally got back in the car, before heading home Mark and I decided to place a bet. He thought that the neighborhood "Cias Ridge" has less houses than "Curran Place", and I thought the opposite. We decided to settle on whoever wins gets the dress the other person up for the second day of school (he wouldn't agree with the first)! To my avail, I won! I am extremely excited to dress up Mark, he is going to look hysterical!
Day 73: Man in a Yellow Hat
| at 4:46 PM
Today I went with Mark all the way to Memorial to Mac Haik Ford (where I bought my car) to get my first oil change! Usually, I would never drive out this far for something as simple as an oil change, but they give you your first one for free after your buy your car from them, so I couldn't miss out on that! When I got there, I realized that I seriously know NOTHING about cars or car dealerships. I felt very stupid driving around everywhere and not knowing what I was doing. If I hadn't had mark there with me, I probably would have wasted an hours' more worth of time than was necessary. Eventually, I just asked somebody who worked there to help me out, and I finally got what I needed! I'm glad that people are willing to help me out, because if not, I would be a lost soul in the world. After the oil change, I went over to Richard's for a little bit to hang out with him. We chatted for a good while and just talked about life and the future. He randomly then put on his yellow raincoat to show me, and I told him he looked like the man in the yellow hat from the book/movie Curious George! It was pretty funny. After a little while, I had to leave because I had work. After work though, I met up with Adam and was introduced to his friend Bryan! He was a pretty cool guy, and it was cool to finally meet him after hearing about him so much!
Day 72: All The Single Ladies!
| at 4:33 PM
So Victoria is a genius because she planned the beach trip that we all went on today! She initially intended it to be "all the single ladies" a.k.a. all of us girls who don't have boyfriends, but it just changed into a super fun trip for everybody! About 20 of us went, including all of the Myklebusts! It was definitely some fun times! When we got there, we all immediately started jumping around and playing in the water because it was HOT! The water was perfect temperature too, not too hot and not too cold, amazing for swimming :) Everyone there was having a blast throwing the frisbee, playing in the water, or just laying around soaking up the sun :) At one point, Erin, Jamie, and I went for a walk just to hang, talk, and potentially find Erin's chick-fil-a friends! It was a failed mission though, because once we got a pretty good ways away from our spot, we found out that they were in the opposite direction than we went! So we had to turn around and walk all the way back! Once we got back, we decided we were going to drive a bit of the way because we were all tired out from walking so much! So we hopped in the car and set out for the chick-fil-a people spot! We visited with them for a little bit, but it was kind of awkward so we left. Soon after we got back to the spot, we decided it was time to pack up and leave because we had been there for about 6 and a half hours! So we all packed up and headed to go get some whataburger! It was a good way to end a fun-in-the-sun day :)
Day 71: College College College
| at 4:22 PM
Well today, college is all I worked on! My dad told me that I would be grounded during the day until I finished everything, so today I definitely took a day off and got to work. For a long time however, I could not discover what I wanted to write about. The picture above it what I looked at for a long, long time. I kept getting distracted by everything possible, and I couldn't think of a topic for my third essay. It was stressing me out. Applying for college is a little overwhelming, I'm not even a senior yet and I already am telling people where I want to go and what I want to do for the rest of my life? It's a little scary to think about! I know that my heart is set on Texas A&M, but I know there's a great possibility I'm going to want to change my major maybe a thousand times haha. I think that time needs to take a chill pill, and stop moving by so fast! I want to be able to savor every moment I have left of high school, and make sure I have the utmost fun while doing it :)
Day 70: Hippies for Woodstock
| at 4:02 PM
Day 69: Sippinnnn On Tea
| at 3:53 PM
This morning I woke up and babysat the Singleton babies for Maggie! She had a photoshoot to go to, so I took care of the kids while she was gone. It started to rain though, and Maggie came back home to do the photoshoot inside! Since their mommy was home but they couldn't play with her, the kids got pretty rowdy! Caroline did get a playdate out of it however, and the other girl's name was Caroline too! All of the kiddos were definitely being little squirts! I still survived the day, barely! Those kids can be a handful, but they are definitely the cutest little children on the planet! At night, I was definitely very excited because the bachelorquad was reunited! Erin invited Ellen, Jamie, and I over to her house to sip some tea, eat some ramen, do some chatroulette, and have a big sleepover! It was probably one of the last times I'll get to see Ellen before she moves, so I was ecstatic that she got to come and hang out with us! :) We all made some Green and Peppermint tea, which made us reminisce about camp, where we met Ellen. :) Once it got late, we knew that if we didn't do something fun then we would fall asleep, so we played around on chatroulette forever! It was a pretty funny night with my girls :) I love them all so much and I know we'll all miss Ellen very much!
Day 68: The Night Before Life Goes On
| at 3:45 PM
Tonight the Mullers, the Cassanis, & the Coulbournes all went over to the Bair's house for dinner to celebrate Sarah's going away. All of our families have been super close since all of us girls were in Pre-K, so it was a pretty sad event. Sarah has always been like an older sister to me, and I love her very much. She's going to be a freshman at LSU this coming year and she is definitely going to fit right in with all the awesome people that I'm sure attend that campus! After all the girls finished chowing down on some awesome salad and pizza, Sarah decided to whip out her phone and play the song "The Night Before (Life Goes On)" by Carrie Underwood. One of the main lyrics that Sarah pointed out to us is when she sings, "tomorrow she'll be rollin' down I-10 Baton Rouge, LSU, eighteen years in her rearview" and this definitely got some of the girls in tears. Sarah has never been separated from Diane or Shannon for more than probably a week, so her going to a different college than them made them all pretty emotional. I love all of these girls, and they are all pretty much my sisters! Congrats to them for going off to college, and having fun on the night before life goes on!
Day 67: The Other Guys & Alien Guys
| at 5:10 PM
Today was FILLED with college stuff! My dad says from now until I finish all my college applications, I am grounded during the day. Therefore, that's pretty much all my day consisted of! Writing half of my first essay and filling out the application itself, it was pretty exhausting! But I'm glad I did it because I don't know when I would do it if I didn't start soon. At night, Adam came over for a little bit after dinner with his family and then I met up with some fellow younglife friends to go to Sonic and then to the movies to see "The Other Guys". That movie was HILARIOUS! Will Ferrell will seriously never get old to me. I will think that he is funny until that day that I die! This movie literally had me laughing out loud, it was hysterical! It was a blend of two of my favorite types of things to watch, cop shows and comedies! I definitely had a fun time with the people I was with, I even got to see Ellen finally! My friends definitely made me love the movie even more :) Afterwards, plenty of people left but Zach lost his wallet so he and Rocky went back into the theatre to find it. Meanwhile, Ellen, Abby, and I broke into Zach's car and hid in there to scare the boys! I even put on Zach's alien mask, it was hilarious! Our plan was to no avail though, the boys knew what we were up to. It was still fun though, and I had a great time with all of my friends :)
Day 66: Party at Vanessa's!
| at 4:56 PM
Today is my daddy's birthday! He is the best dad ever, and I wouldn't ever trade him for the world. I hope that one day when I'm married, my husband is just like my dad because he is the greatest! Today I went over to Erin's for a little bit to paint a picture frame for my dad to put on his work desk :) It said, "best buddy in the world", (which is our saying for each other) and holds a picture of him and I when I was little. It's pretty cute, and I know that my dad will love it :) For dinner, I met up with my Big Bear girls for some dinner at Chili's! Most of the girls were there, minus Ellen and Elise, and it was great to see everybody again! We all had a blast talking, and it's like we really never left camp. Sadly, all of us were sick though so we were all talking a little funny! I think I've bonded with these girls a lot, and I can definitely say that I LOVE them! Meg even decided to show her beautiful face, and we discovered that she works at the Chili's we went to - how convenient! After Chili's a couple of us went over to Vanessa's house to hang out. We met her adorable little puppy which we all fell in love with! When we decided to go to the store to get some cake mix and ice cream, the little fella even went with us! We had a blast in kroger, taking some hilarious pictures and just running around like we were crazy! When we got back, we quickly put the cake in the oven and devoured the Ice Cream gallon like there was no tomorrow. During this process, Vanessa's older brother Albert, Zach, and Price came and joined us in a joke telling session! It was hilarious, and I even made Albert cry he was laughing so hard! It was so much fun, and I will never forget the laughs, jokes, and food that was shared tonight :) I love my big bear girls! :)
Day 65: Family-nessss
| at 4:51 PM
I finished the third Harry potter today and it was amazing! I really am falling in love with the series, and I want to watch all of the movies before the next one comes out this coming November! During the movie however, I was coughing, A LOT. Richard decided that it was time for me to drink some Emergen-C, which was DISGUSTING. He said it was "an acquired taste" but I say it's just yucky! Later that night I went to church with the fam which was good because it's been a while since we've all been together. After church, we all ate dinner together and folded laundry, my favorite chore... NOT. After the laundry I went over to Anam's house to hang with her for a little bit. We wound up getting some Sonic slushies and cooking ourselves a pizza we bought from Randall's. It was delicious :) I love Anam and I love that we can just pig out together because that's what we do!
Day 64: After-camp Catch Up!
| at 1:13 AM
I saw Adam Adams today! I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks so it was definitely some time to catch up! I just got back from Younglife camp, and he just got back from fish camp so we both had some crazy stories to swap! He is going off to college in a couple of weeks so I will definitely be sad to see him go, but happy because he is going to be a fightin' Texas Aggie! I am definitely excited that he is going to be living in College Station because that means that I am without a doubt going to be seeing him this coming year. I love to visit College Station, it really is the best place on earth :) After chatting with Adam for a bit and catching up on Jersey Shore, we decided that we wanted to get some ice cream! So Adam, Diane, and I drove over to get some delicious Ben & Jerry's, which hit the spot on the hot summer day. Afterwards however, Adam had to go home because I had to go to work. :( After work, I hung out with Richard for a little bit and started the third Harry Potter movie, "The Prisoner of Azkaban" I truly am becoming a fan! Tonight I also got to talk with Adam and one of my best friends Tyler after I left Richard's. Those two are a crazy pair and I love them to pieces!
Day 63: Back to Work!
| at 1:02 AM
Today was a difficult day. It was my first day back at work and I wasn't exactly what you would call "willing" to go. I honestly like working, and earning money is definitely a sweet deal, but sometimes I would rather just prefer to sleep. And this, was one of those days. Today, I woke up feeling a little sick, and this did not contribute positively to my desire to go to work. I just wanted to lay in bed all day and sleep. I dreaded going to work all day long, and wasn't thrilled once I had to go. I almost had to drag myself into my room to change clothes and get into the car in order to be on time. It felt like one of the most arduous tasks ever just walking to the car because I just wanted to go back to bed. Once I got to work however, things looked a tad brighter. Things weren't too busy, and I was working with a lot of people that I missed seeing! I guess you could say that although it wasn't exactly my first choice in my list of things to do tonight, but once I got there it really was fun. It's weird because while I was at home going to work, my friends on work crew were back at frontier climbing a mountain the very same day. The whole way up, they said was pretty rough and tiring. But once they got to the top, everything was worth it because of the view. I guess the theme for our days were the same, it's crazy to think about. Although the initial journey is pretty difficult, the hard work is always worth it in the end. :)
Day 62: Bowling with Schmucks
| at 12:40 AM
