Day 326: Biddy B and the Bowlers

Day two of TAKS week was a definitely A+ SUCCESS. Waking up at 10:30 was the first perk of the day, and it definitely gave way to a good start. By late night, my friends and I knew that in order to celebrate TAKS week right, we had to go out at night - things that don't happen on an everyday basis! After much contemplation, we came up with the most ingenious idea ever - late night bowling! I don't bowl very often, so it's fair to say that well... I'm not the best player out there. I sarcastically brag that I'll bowl a 200... when I really have a max score of maybe 70. Regardless, bowling is always so much fun! This time even the employees were having a ball with us dancing the cupid shuffle, giving us free cokes, and one lady even pushed erica! It was definitely a wild night. It may not be the craziest thing we've ever done, but it's fair to say that tonight definitely "got the ball rolling" for a crazy TAKS week!

Day 325: Let's Get Ready to Slumber

Today started off as any other normal Monday. I woke up at my usual time of 8:40 and went to school. I was bored throughout my classes, waiting for my teachers to finally realize that their students don't want to listen anymore. Once the bell rang at the end of the school day... the day entirely changed. Then marked the official beginning of TAKS week! On school nights, it's not usual for us to have sleepovers, or stay out late, or make plans to hang out together the next morning, but this week was different. Everyday for the rest of the week, seniors got to come in later because we don't have to take the TAKS test! Thank goodness the week has come, I was about ready to pull my hair out from all the lame work our teachers have given us, seniors definitely deserve a break! In order to celebrate, a couple of the girls and I went over to Savannah's house to paint our nails and gossip till the early morning! We even went for a late night Whataburger run - my first fast food since the beginning of lent! Even though it was pretty low key for a TAKS night, I can't wait to see what shinanigans we'll be getting into in the nights to come :)

Day 324: Risen

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me."
-Matthew 28: 6-10

Today is Easter Sunday! It's one of the most celebrated days in churches everywhere, and it definitely shows. At St. Laurence, Easter Sunday is one of the most packed days on the entire calendar. You have to get to mass an hour ahead of time to claim your spot! It's always a great excuse to wear a new dress :) After church, the family tradition of celebrating Easter Sunday with the Cassanis continued. This year, it was at our house, and we invited the Hills to come over for some good old fashioned grilling out! Family get-togethers on holidays are fun for hanging out and relaxing, but the best part is definitely the FOOD. I think so much food was made today that we'll be okay for a couple of weeks.

Day 323: Squirt

*Squirt!*

Trying new food is never an obstacle for me, in fact; I love trying new things! Tonight a couple of girls and I went to a place called Kublai Khan - Crazy Stir Fry for Anam's birthday dinner! I admit, the name is pretty silly but the food is downright delicious! It's just like Ghengis Grill, (where you pick out everything that is going to be in your meal when it's raw, and the chefs just cook if for you) but it's honestly ten times better! Ghengis Grill is a tough one to beat, so Kublai Khan is definitely up there in my favorite stir fry restaurant! After chowing down, the girls and I had a photo shoot outside with the well renowned photographer, Miss Kaitlyn Engle. After snapping some gorgeous (and some hilarious) pictures, we all headed back to Anam's house for some cookie cake and hanging out! More people filled the house by the end of the night, we finally got the boys to join in on the fun! We didn't have a dance party like we usually do every year, but we sure got the party started when we joked around about Richard Ekeke! Regardless of whether we're 18 or 8, girls will always be girls :)

Day 322: GREAT Friday!

Today was possibly one of the best days of my life - Good Friday! Okay of course, it's an amazing holy day on the Catholic calendar, but it was an even more amazing day that we got off from school! Since the moment we found out we were going to get today off, my friends and I knew exactly what to do... BEACH TRIP! With almost every single person from Austin High School (plus a few more!) in tow, our army of cars headed down to Surfside for some classic hanging out and partying at the beach! I mean, come on let's be real... what better way to celebrate Good Friday than by soaking up some sun at the beach! In total, there were probably about sixty kids with us - definitely our most successful beach trip ever! Everyone finally got to take a load off from school to just kick back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful weather. We didn't really hit up the water too much though - there was a wall of seaweed covering the shore! It was too gross, we all decided to steer clear and keep the activities a little bit more above the tide lines :) Today was probably one of the biggest bonding days ever - my favorite way to spend my time! I think a little bit of sand and sun is just what us kids needed to turn this Good Friday into a GREAT Friday!

Day 321: Last Stretch

Tonight's big event was one that came upon by accident. The girls and I were just hanging around bored on a Friday night, when we realized that a baseball game was going on at home. We weren't really doing anything else, so we decided to be spontaneous and head on out to the game! It was a home game after all, it's not like it was that far of a drive! After watching the boys run some bases around Dulles, we suddenly realized it wasn't just the last baseball home game of the year... it was our last home game of high school! Not just for baseball, for any sport! We didn't think it was that big of a game on our way up to the school, but after realizing just how monumental this game was, we became the most rambunctious fans in the stadium! The last home athletic event of our high school lives... it's a pretty big deal! I know I keep on reiterating about how much I'm going to miss high school events, but it doesn't get much better than hanging out with your friends on a friday night just watchin' a game!

Day 320: Together

As the years pass and we grow apart, I want you to know that you guys are in my heart. You helped me through problems, through things good and bad. You helped me keep smiling when I was sad. You helped me with guys. You made me stay strong. How will I live, when you guys are gone? And where the years take us, no place is too far. We will think of each other wherever we are. You're wonderful people with good hearts to lend, and I want you to know that you'll always be my best friends!
